703 control box

Hi,

underneath my 703 control box is written "PULL TO OPEN" and have seen that others have "PUSH TO OPEN".

Does anybody knows what this refers to?

Most Yamaha motors have a throttle mechanism that is pushed to open the throttle valve(s). Of course when the handle is pulled back the control cable "pulls" the throttle to the closed position.

A few mostly smaller Yams have "pull to open" throttles.

The 703 control box can be purchased in either a pull-to-open configuration or a push-to-open configuration. And, it can be converted from one configuration to the other.

Do you need parts to convert it or is just a "rearrangement" of what is inside?
