Assumption - correct or not?

This attached video is of an 225 OX-66 being run in a test tank. At or near WOT, water begins to flow from the idle relief ports. Is this due to the PRV opening at higher water pressure?

Myself, I would think the PRV has nothing to do with that.
but then I know little about those motors.

could the back pressure in the exhaust( where the PRV opens to and dumps water) be enough at high RPM to cause water to flow out those ports?

I have never been able to get water to flow out of the idle relief holes on my C40, not even a mist.
I worried about it for awhile, but it have been many years now and it is still going strong

Normal. Maybe I should say not abnormal.

Years ago Yamaha had some motors on their website that were underway. One of them was spewing water out of that port. Wished I had saved it.

Just curious. If I have another boat handy I may have them check my own motor at various rpm. Silly but gotta check anyway
