Tough pivoting motor

My cables are fine, I disconnected the motor form the steering and it's smooth as silk. I've pinpointed the problem with the tight steering at the points where the motor pivots off the bracket. What would be the best course of action?

Have the pivot zerk fittings ever been greased?

Yes. A couple of years ago I had this problem and the mechanic drilled holes along the casing. I know I'm getting grease from the bottom to the top.
