704 binnacle stuck wide open throttle

Put rig on trailer sat and felt pressure on 704 control... turned eng off and needed to crank back up to pull forward a few more inches.
when I fired back up the engine was I'm nuetral but full throttle and I shut it off

Took 704 off console and found one cable had come loose and connected back but engine was still stuck in wide open position

I would be pulling the cowl and inspecting the cables and linkages at the motor.

I will do that right now.... I saw that the cable was disconnected inside the 704 and thought that was my trouble...

It could still be, but you said you connected it back up, so either it came back off/out or something else is wrong.
there is no way for us on computers to see what is going on.

I have no idea how the cable could have come off the con*****er to begin with

Found a broken threaded joint link on carb control linkage... just ordered part to replace & repair...
i think looking under the cowling would have been my best move to begin with
