    Sounds like a good plan, as long as you get it on center to start.
    Will the drill bushing go right down close to the broken bolt? If there is any significant amount of the 1/8 drill sticking out of the bottom of the bushing...it's likely to walk off center. So start real slow and let the bit do the work and stay on center.

    When you are drilling get
    someone look from the side to tell you if you are staying perpendicular to surface the bolt is in. You look down on drill to keep yourself square the other way. You have a deep hole to drill so clear the chips from the hole often , especially with the 1/8" bit....peck drill.

    Use something as a cutting fluid, if you don't have any, use engine oil.

    The 3/16" LH bit may back it out as there will only pretty much the theads left by then..don't hold your breath on that.I doubt it will.

    If it gets down to using the tap to clean out the remaining threads be very careful as they will start coming off in little chunks, which are great at jamming up taps. So again take your sweet time, you are not using a 1" tap here which is hard to break...a little 6" mm is.

    Anyway to get a Dremel with burr to level off the top before you start?

    If you break off a drill or tap in the hole, you are pretty much hooped.

      Success in drilling out old bolt and chasing threads- was very tedious to say the least, going to tackle original oil injection analysis tomorrow (hopefully).
