  • 225TXRP: Emergency Engine Operation

Can someone elaborate about this sticker that is on the black box?

It states to See Owner's Manual for details but of course I don't have this (I do have the highly generic Repair Maintenance Manual (Factory).

I'd appreciate it if everyone doesn't point me to Yamaha's website for the manual!!

    Thank.
    Shawn

I'm polite...so I'll say thanks but it's almost like you didn't read my post! The link you sent me only goes 1998 and the 225TXRP is a 1991. Hence why I asked for people not to tell me to go to Yamaha and "look it up"!!!

So if someone who "knows" what this is about I'd love a laymen's explanation!

Sorry, apparently I did not read your post fully.
But maybe a newer owners manual would have same info, but I have no real info on your motor.
I am sure someone will drop in with the proper info for that older motor

as i understand it, it bypasses 4? sensors used in the system
i wouldnt suggest running without them, rather fix whats broke

in bypass mode ign timing and any fuel enrichment is fixed.
do not attempt much more than idle speed.

I believe he is asking how you do the bypass, as he does not have the owners manual to read how it is done.

But the warnings are good info

your asking me to remember something about my sons age?

there are 3 basic bypass modes used on the way back motors.
1 unplug the yellow lead at the base of the ECU.
2 plug together the yellow leads at the base of the ECU.
3 unplug the A coupler, unplug the B coupler and connect A to B.
on that antique bypass simply uses the fixed pulser coil for ign timing.
it uses NO sensor feed back and provides NO fuel enrichment at any time.
