Just purchased a 2002 T8PHA, love the motor but it's not pissing a good stream. Very intermittent. My question is how hard is it to replace the impeller on a yamaha? I've done them in a mercury. Also has anybody changed props on these high thrust models so you can use them as regular small boat motor? I want to interchange between my bigger walleye boat and my small boat. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

prop selection is iffy for the T 8.
you may check with a local prop shop . they can modify props.
on the impeller, most the T8 motors and some of the F/T9.9's, used a wiper seal in the midsection just below the barrel nut.
yours has it, parts 4,5 ,6 on upper casing diagram.
IF your motor uses that wiper you MUST remove the jam nut,reference 18 on the control diagram, BEFORE dropping the case or you will have to remove the prop shaft to reassemble the shifter. -
