Hey guys, salvaged a 14 foot tin boat that got left in the ice over winter. Found out the owner he said i can have the motor, its a 30hp yamaha two stroke that has wheel steering and controls. Linkage is ****ed except for the steering one and i have a 12 foot rib i’d like to put the engine on but with a tiller control. How much screwing around is involved with that? Found a few tiller setups on ebay but not sure if its just a matter of bolting up the tiller handle to the side of the motor or what.
also since this thing was under water for 4 months im cleaning it up to see if i can get it to run. Pulled plugs and turns over fine. Just got it out today so will keep the cylinders full of two stroke oil till i can tear into this week
