  • Pilot Jet Adj.

Hi I have a 2004 4stroke 8HP and have just cleaned out the carb. What is the amount of turns out on the pilot screw to start with. Also looking to overhaul the triple carbs on my main engine a 40HEO 2stroke, about a 1984-1993 model Where does one start the pilot screws on these please as the tick over is non existent but does run at full bore

On the F8 the idle mixture screw adjustment setting is 1 and 3/8ths turns (+ or - 3/8ths turn) out from being lightly seated.

I am not familiar with the term "tick over". I do have to be alert for ticks getting over me when walking the dog in the woods but that is the only tick that I am familiar with.

Too bad we English speaking folks don't share the same language.

many thanks for the help. The term 'tick over' is for the engine revs to be at their slowest but even running.

Idle speed is what you mean...

        Should be 750rpm +/- 50 for your 40H

Pilot jet screw adjustment is 1-1/8 +/- 1/4 turns out.

I'm working on a friend 50D (6H5) which is same stuff as your 40H (6H4)
