I have an F20-ESH that is 10 years old. It has always run smoothly and strong but in the last 6 months has developed a very annoying and intermittent problem. While running at nearly any throttle level from idle to WOT, it will abruptly stumble, sometimes immediately after starting, sometimes after tens of minutes of operation, sometimes not at all during the entire trip. Frequently it stumbles so hard that it dies. It will then resist re-starting unless I pump the fuel primer bulb. Once it starts this stumble/stall behavior, it seems to stumble less if I run it at modest rpm's. The fuel filter is new and clean, the fuel and fuel tank are clean, oil and oil filter are new. There is no fuel leak or obvious air getting into the fuel filter bowl. Spark plugs are clean and tight, wires seem to be connected securely. There is plenty of cooling water flow and it gets warm after appropriate length of time. Neither idiot light lights up when it stumbles/dies. Any ideas on what I should try replacing to get it to behave properly? Any tests to try to determine the cause of the problem?
