  • 3-phase lighting coils - delta? wye? why?

So for some time, I've known the schematics for my 3.3l F225txrd show two charge coils,
    each as "wye".
And that the subsequent 3.3l F250 is also "wye"
    - although interestingly only one coil

but I only noticed today that the F150 introduced in 2004
has its coil in a "delta" form

Looking further, that when the 4.3l engines were introduced,
the "SHO" had two delta coils, but the 'offshore' two wye coils.

the original F115 had Wye - but the more recent F115B Delta

and both the F250B and the I-4 F200 use Delta

so seems - generally - Yamaha started using wye but has moved to delta - why?

Because they wanted to 'change' things up...

Don't you mean two "lighting" coils?

What is it that customers are demanding more of?

Hint: The XF375 and XF425 have three (3) delta wound lighting coils.

Aw, c'mon guys, I thought my post was rather witty! You know... how the Greek letter Delta stands for 'difference' or 'change'... and Yamaha 'changed' their design... but I guess if one has to explain it, then it wasn't a very good joke

If only I could have gotten graded on effort during my schooling years!
