    on the prime start.
on my muffs, I have a firm bulb but after cranking a few turns I have to squeeze my bulb again to start.
I have replaced ALL fuel pumps with new and new PS gaskets.
My startup rpm is 800 but no change after 5 minutes. What am I missing.
    Thanks

I thought that the RPM would reduce after warm up showing that the PS was operating properly.

        idle speed is 750 RPM.
its doing about what its supposed to do.
do you understand WHY outboards use a primer bulb and inboards, sterndrives and your truck don't?

I understand the function of the bulb but my question is does the PS increase the rpm at start up and then close off after warm up? If so then I should have higher rpm at start up and then a reduction to published idle after warming up.

I know my C40 advances timing while cold which speeds up idle until the temp of motor gets above 100 - 120F.
Not sure if your 225 does the same or not. service manual should say something about that

I don't know your location and we have very different engines however, with mine, and the sensors, with the warmer temps NOW vs winter, my engine drops to 700 RPM within a minute from maybe 800RPM's.

During the winter, colder water, colder air temps, it'll take approx 2 minutes for the idle to drop down to 700 (No changes what so ever).

I dare say if its fairly warm outside, and the engine will idle almost immediatly at start up, it doesn't need the primestart or its turned off and its not needed at that particular time.
