    FJR1300 carbs have been cleaned 3 times in the last 2 weeks!

    After post the 1st video tuned pilot screw to 2-1/2 turns out on each carb (instead of 1-5/8 recomended by SM) and seems to be running good with ATDC 7º at idle (800rpm's)

    Lets see what happen tomorrow at cold start
    Hope to be good but the real test will on the water under load (next week I hope)
    Then will have a look on spark plugs to check the A/F mixture

    SM recomends 5º ATDC +/-1 so 7º ATDC is not critical, right?



    One thing doesn´t sound reallly good yet is when I restart motor idle speed is a little high for a couple of seconds (have good working thermostat)

    Not so high and not many time as on video

      Yes, I read that it was cleaned 3 times.

      Folks post carbs are cleaned but NEVER pull a jet out and manually look thru them for day light. Turns out their NOT clean and still clogged.

      That's what I was asking you. Were the jets literally pulled from each carb and visually inspected? Or sprayed with carb cleaner, etc.

      Not to insult anyone, just to confirm the basics have truly been done..

      I don't believe its electrical, the higher rev's, then stalling, is indictive of fuel issues.

        Yes, pulled apart completely opened, used compressed air, brake cleaner, removed jets, jet needle, needle etc

          Prime start motors will advance the timing at start up and then drop back to proper idle timing when it sees motor temperature around 100F.
          This will cause higher RPM at first start

            Today we tested the motor on the water is working really good!

              What was the final fix or a combination of ? Carb, ignition, fuel, ?


              BTW, thanks for the update, its a 50/50 we hear anything further. Have fun!!
