Yam, do you know what model and year of this engine? I may be interested in the carbs if you still have them.

All I remember off hand was it is a single carb 2 cylinder motor.
But I can see if I can find any info on the parts.
might still have the id tags

Bosco my brother has a son that lives in Spring Tx.
he heads up there often, so I could get him to drop it off at his son's house.
that is about as close as I can get it to easily, and free
You or your brother planning a trip to see each other anytime soon?

not sure if you want the upper and lower crank housing on it

carb has 68973 6A on it

looking at the parts break down the crank is pressed together, so getting the rods off will be a problem

Thanks for looking, I thought it might have been a twin carb.

Thanks. Don't think that is what I am looking for.

Is it the rods not being easily removed?

That is part of it. Don't want any more weight than is possible or any non-essential rotating parts. Plus, I think that I am looking for something with a tad more electrical output.

the output was another one I was thinking about too.
not sure what that 30 from 86 puts out but my 1999 c40 only puts out 6 amps, so am fairly sure that 30 does not go above 6.

probably need to rethink what size and type motor parts you are wanting.
need to eliminate the pressed cranks or at least have rods that have caps so you can remove them easily.

then decide how many amps you want so you can target that sized motor

I was thinking of a three or four cylinder later (1990's) model something or other. Preferably a two stroke as the crank would be easier to rotate and keep lubed. I think. Ideally with about 10 amps output.

A 75, 80 or 90hp 3cyl yamaha 2-stroke puts out 10A and has con-rods with caps for easy removal. Don’t know if that’s what you are looking for but just fyi.

I was wondering how you planned on keeping the main bearings lubed.
ball bearing mains would be a lot easier than babit inserts like autos have
