I just replaced the fuel element on my engine, and noticed that the fuel level does not cover the entire element, it just comes up to the very bottom of the element. Everything seems to run ok, but I would have thought that the element would be completely submerged in the fuel, is this the wrong assumption? Also, there is a wire coming out of the bottom of the fuel bowl, is this some sort of alarm for low fuel, or what?
