25hp Yamaha y2000

I have a yamaha 25hp 4stroke year 2000 outboard and a yamaha 703 remote but no control cables.

Firstly I don't know what cables I need and secondly how to connect the cables into the engine I do however know how to connect it to the 703 remote.

Here is a picture of where i believe you connect the control cables.


Could someone please explain to me what cables I need and how to connect them! please and thank you.

Yamaha cables, measure the length.You need the proper cable ends.

Get a service manual or take it to a dealer. was it always a remote.
