Just as the title says, my powerhead is making a loud metallic knocking. I tried decarbing it (knowing deep down it was just a waste of a $12 can of deep creep) and the knock went away. Took it to the lake to test it and it didn't go well (knock returned, won't plane). Pulled the plugs and the electrode on the center plug in beat down to almost touching. Compression is down about 10#'s in that cylinder. Immediately put it back on the trailer and went home. The knock will sometimes go away until a load is put on the engine. I'm assuming none of this is good news? New powerhead time?
