  • F115 will not start

Last fall I ran the fuel completely out of the F115 and fogged the motor. Ran the VST dry. This spring I can not get the motor to Start. Does not seem to be getting fuel. After trying to start numerous times I've checked the fuel rail and there is no fuel pressure on the injector rail. I'm wondering if the primer ball has collapsed as it does not seem to push fuel to the motor. I can hear the high pressure fuel pump run for a few seconds after trying to start the motor. Any suggestions would be helpful. Checked all fuses no issues with any of the fuses. motor turns over just fine, but will not start.

    Thanks

fuel pump should not run at key off.
either you have no fuel in the vst or the pump isn't working.

Can you disconnect the primer bulb before the engine and try priming it and see if your getting fuel that far.

You should also be able to loosen the drain screw at the bottom of the VST, prime the primer bulb and fuel should come out thru the clear drain hose..

You should be able to do the same with the Yamaha (under cowl) fuel filter cup removed.

If it doesn't, you have a fuel restriction before the engine.

If running ethonol fuel with Non-ethonol lines to the engines, its NOT unuual for the insides of the fuel lines to break down (literally) inside, preventing/hampering fuel flow...

Primer Bulb replaced all good now. Ethanol in gas is a bad idea. Thanks for all your comments. Motor is running fine now

            I agree.
Ethanol belongs in my glass with some ice.
buy decent ethanol and no mixers are required.
this E fuel thing is STUPID.
however I have made a ton of cash with it.
we call it the US government marine technician stimulous program.
            cant wait for E-15.

we are the ONLY country in the WORLD burning our food supply as fuel.

there are some E production corperations that's made more off political stupidity than I have though.

What is the proper government name for that Rod?
              USGMTTP?

from what I have read there is more fuel/ energy burned in planting, growing, harvesting, and transporting the grain, then fermenting and distilling the ethanol, transporting the ethanol so it can be blended, so they can eventually transport it to the fuel stations than we ever get out of the ethanol as fuel.

I would also like to know why the fuel mileage estimates they put on new vehicles do not pertain to the ethanol fuel we have to burn in them.

You would think the government would mandate the car companys rate mileage with the only fuel we can find to run them on unless they allow us to choose between buying straight gas or the ethenol in all or most of the gas stations here in all of the states

If we cannot find straight gas anymore why are they still rating them only with the fuel we cannot get

its a very powerful organic solvent.
that's why it has to be trucked and cannot be piped.
                it corrodes/dissolves the piping.
it cant be blended at the refinery due to phase separation during transport and storage.
its about the biggest croc ever shoved down the taxpayers throat yet we still re elect the same idiots year after year.
when I vote now I WONT vote for ANY incument.

                  Agree 100 %

I hate to think about what all is paid out each year to the ones that have already left much less the ones still in office, but that is way off topic now.

All ethanol is produced from corn in Midwest by farmers who own share in the bio fuel CO OPs. Corn Farmers are getting rich on the American public. Also in the Ethanol fuel law. All E10 fuel needs to be produced using US domestically produced ethanol at $7.00 per gallon. No ethanol from outside the US is allowed....How do like them apples ...excuse me corn.

Agree with Rod bolt the stuff is corrosive as all get out. We used to race WKA go Karts all powered with methanol....Great racing fuel but that's where it should stay, at the track, not on the water
