1st, thank you for the tips.
I need to get the high pressure test done.
VST filter is new this week, in line filter is new.
I was just wondering how often or how long those pumps in the VST tank last.
Previous owner has on the service record that it was taken out, smacked with a hammer and a shot of power sent through it to get it going one year. Think that means it was damaged and I should go new ?
    Thanks again

Couple of questions about fuel pumps.
The gauge I hooked up to the low pressure one idles at 50 psi, then when i open up the throttle it drops to 40, comes back to 45, drops to 40. Is this too much of a variance off the 50 ? Is 50 the correct number it should run at ?
Also, should there be any residual pressure when I turn the motor off? Its goes straight down to 0.
What would be your first things to do ?
      As always thank you

I would replace the LP pumps if they are old or you do not know how old they are. When bad they can't supply enough fuel to the VST at high RPMS at first then get progressively worse. If they have a red tab at a corner I believe they are the older style and really need replacing.
