Hopefully I can explain my question. I am swapping out a 60 HP Merc 4S with a Yamaha 70 2S. The controls on the Yamaha are side mount on the right side of the boat. Can you change the controls to mount on the right side of my center console? The existing merc controls are binacel mount on top of my console. Any ideas? Also can I use the existing merc controls. I was told they make adapters. Both sets of cables have threaded ends. Thanks

I believe you can switch around your side mount controls but you'll need to change the linkage connections on the inside. If you don't, forward will be reverse avd vice versa. I would always use yamaha controls and cables for yamaha engines. -
the handle on the 703 box can be swapped for left or right hand mounting.
use 33 series cables.Comment
