1985 yamaha 175hp replaced water pump with sierra parts and torqued to 8#. turned motor on, waters cooling motor and shooting out on top but there's a pressurized water shooting out the back on top part of lower unit like if there's the water pump housing. It's shooting through small holes and backside openings....maybe this is normal but I don't know if water is supposed to be going through there and if it does how does it get into that part of lower unit....btw not inside gear case oil and water not mixing please see attachment. Is there a hole that allows water pump to release water into that part of lower unit? Thanks guys sorry for rambling.
