I have been looking to purchase a used outboard for a while and found a used 2004 F90 with low hours that runs great. Only problem I have found is that the motor mount bolts are extremely corroded. Attached is a picture. I've read that replacing these is very labor intensive. How can I check the integrity of these bolts and know if they would need to be changed? Any suggestions to maximize the use of these bolts? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Excellent high def photos.
IMO, its nothing to worry about:
the motor is not going to "fall off",
that bolt can't "back out" - its captured by the design of the assembly
and you'd have to beat it out anyway, to replace it)

They do rust. Looks like someone has added a new nut to an old bolt. I would be concerned about how that was done. I would prefer to have the old nut left in place and then make a determination.
