  • How to adjust Oil injection on 130Hp

    I have a twin 130 HP Yamaha TLRC 2004.

One cosumes almost twice the oil (injected) then other.

Which part (or part number) causes the high consumption?

Can it be adjusted????? or have to replace parts.

    Thanks tomB

leaking seals have to be replaced
miss adjusted linkage can be adjusted
broken linkage has to be replaced

Is one using too much or is the other not using enough
Need to find the problem before figuring out how to fix

Easy enough to swap the pumps and see if the high oil usage transfers from one motor to the other.

Certainly the motors should be inspected and adjusted if necessary to ensure the oil pump control rod is set correctly.

            Parts are all shown here.

2004 130TLRC Yamaha Outboard OIL PUMP Diagram and Parts

The service manual may very well provide a specification for oil flow as a function of engine RPM and oil rod position. A procedure may be shown to measure the oil flow to see if it is in or out of specifications.
