  • 2000 F115 Fuel Pump Canon Plug

    Good Morning guys,

This past weekend took the family out on the boat and ran into a problem with the electrical connector going to the high pressure fuel pump. Had the problem in the past, the contacts inside the connector were spread apart and not making good contact with the pins on the pump side. Tweaked them with a small screwdriver and we were on our way, ran great all day, stop and started no other issues. This had happened once before when I was having issues back in the spring. I know those contact need replacing and probably the plastic housing as well. Looking at the parts diagram all I can find is the entire wire harness, 68V-8259M-00-00.

Does anyone happen to know a part number for the contacts and housing? Is it something generic I can get at Newark or specialty from Yamaha dealer?

    Motor: 2000 F115TXRY

    thanks,

Yamaha uses Japanese "plug" manufacturers - typically Furukawa or Sumitomo

you will need to do some detective work, looking at on-line photos until you recognize a match.

don't know if Newark sells them, but there are a couple small sites catering to motorcycles

    easternbeaver.com
    corsa-technic.com

Of course, its "just a connector" -
you are free to change both ends to whatever you want:
generic bullet connectors, spade connectors, the common "SAE plug" - whatever.

I remember seeing the beaver one before.
takes awhile to get them as they come from over there.

but need to make sure the seals are in good shape to keep oy any moisture also

thank you both, I will definitely check out both of those sites. I can definitely "make it work" if need be but thought if I could get the right plug why not. I just know those contacts wont take too many more adjustments before they break. Appreciate your help!
