  • 2001 250 ox66 Oil Transfer Problem

I have a 2001 250 ox66, oil will not transfer, Red light came on and alarm worked, E-switch works to fill main tank, remote tank filter was replaced, I replaced the main oil level switch and swapped the remote one so they work.

I have yellow light on my dash so based on previous posts I have a "open" wire somewhere? I did re-do my dash over the winter so could it be a wire going into tach?

Does this sound like an issue with tach wiring or wires from motor to tach? I think I verified everything works on the motor, the boat is new to me and previous owner swears that everything was fine.

    Thanks

sounds like the system is working as desined.

if the ECU sees the break in the SWB(remote tank) switch it wont allow oil transfer.
check the black and the black/red wires from the remote tank to the engine.
remember there is a splice in the harness where the black/red gets tapped for the green/white that goes to the console.
if the green/white wire fails you get a yellow lamp but all systems work.
if the black or black red opens you get a yellow lamp and NO automatic transfer but manual will still work.

OK, so i'll check the black or black red in the 4P harness from SWB to engine and the splice connection on the engine green/white to black or black/red.

But the green/white wire going to tach does not actually send a signal to ground the transfer pump, it just controls the 3 bar lights?

      Thanks

the green/white only controls the yellow and green lamps.
grounded the green or far right bar is displayed, ungrounded and the yellow or center bar is displayed.

the black and black red wire going to the ECU can inhibit auto transfer.

Black wire was corroded, works like a charm now, Thanks Rodbolt!

not bad for a guy with less than a few days experience.

typically if you can detail the issue, I can solve it.

I have actually done this for a living for maybe a few weeks.

              glad your back in action.
