I just posted on how to do it.
you may be money ahead to pay a trained tech.
kinda like the commercial of insert the knife between the second and third rib.
one small mistake on a cam tooth, one small mistake on set up for removal/installation.
one screw up on belt height and KABLOOEY. you think an SM is pricey?

so the "2005" F250 - the TURD - was the first and last with a model year.
and looks like the "2005 Model" production ended by March 2005
Your actual month/year of manufacture should be on a label on the bracket
(and appears to have been between 4/05 and 3/06)
The yamahapubs.com site is not available to me this morning
but my guess is the relevant SM for your engine is LIT-18616-02-97

if you have to ask that question you may not be qualified to perform the procedure.
you first remove the plugs, then all the wiring and the wire harness holder.
then you follow the SM procedure for indexing the cams and the flywheel.
then move the tensioner back and lock it.
then remove the rotor.
then remove the aft center idler.
then remove the stator/pulser assy.now the belt comes off.
to install
go back to the sm,make sure no further indexing is nessasary.
the port bank intake cam likes to move.
if it does ,remove the cam cover and hold the cam with a 15/16ths open end.
now there re 5 marks on the belt that have to line up with the marks on the drive and driven sprockets.
now making sure the belt is on the proper marks and the proper height on the sprockets install the center idler to lock the belt in place.
now inspect all marks and belt heights.
if they are all good to go pull the 5mm rod.
roll the motor over two turns manually.
make sure nothing bound up and all the sprocket marks are correct.
if so button it up and go play,
takes me about 4 hrs.
screw up and not only the valves wont clear the pistons they wont clear each other.
gotta remember at the school house the motor is waist level on a stand .
in real life it is typically 8ft up on a work rack and you do this standing on a ladder.
and that is about it in a nutshell.
may be worth your time to take it in to someone with some training and experience.

why doesn't anyone pay attention?
there can be a HUGE difference between year model designation and ACTUAL production date.
my old 1970 442 was manufactured in sep of 1969.
most cosmetic parts would not interchange.
the F225***D would be an o5.
the F225txr would be an 06 and later.
then you look at the production code date on the stbd bracket for a year.
that is what the little date codes mean in the parts book.
like 4_11 or 6_13..
is it a messed up system? I have never liked it.
however it was done so Yamaha would not have to wait until the next model production run to introduce new tech.
or so they say.
but there can be a huge difference in a motor produced 4_11 and 4_13 even though they are the same HP.
