In regard to cowboy shoots, etc? What’s new?

shoot got canceled for today due to rain.
the novenber shoot was a wild bunch match. used colt 1911 instead of my 1873 colt.
last stage of the match was 20 rounds of .45 acp.
squibbed on the second shot and scored 19 misses.
ordered my .45acp dies today. no more buying it from another reloader.

Can’t beat a .45 ACP. Battle proven. Brother passed away a few years ago. Cleaned out his house and found 900 rounds. Cheap ball. Perfect for my style of nonsense.

I am going to load 230gr cast ball. 6 or 7 gr trial boss maybe.
I load my 357 and 38spl with 4gr of trail boss.
I like trail boss and cast lead.
I also use a lot of IMR 4227 and unique with cast lead. standard 6 round match eats up about 120 rounds and about a box of shotgun shells.
but the most6 fun are the Spanish American war shoots, we get to break out the old military bolt action as long as it shooting cast lead with gas checks.
