humming noise at start up

Hi all
no problem here. just curious about a noise I hear at start up.
I have an 200 hp 2005 ox66 (SW2).
when I first fire her up i hear the a humm from the outboard for about the first 20 seconds and the voltage drops. After 20 or so sec the hum stops and the volts go back up.
What is this? injectors? hp fuel pump?
btw... I LOVE THIS OUTBOARD!

so its completely normal?
is it just priming the injectors? filling the VST?
One more quick question. What kinda water pressure should I expect cruising at 45rpms? Im around 20psi. that cool? thats with a brand new water pump kit, poppet valve, and tstats. I was kinda expecting a bit higher...

It's pressurizing the fuel rail. Not sure on the water pressure.

motor will not even idle at 45 RPMs much less cruise.


Might want to post what the voltage is reading and how much it drops, as that might not be normal

I think he may have meant 4500 RPM's.....

yes, of course I meant 4500 rpms.
the voltage just "drops" to 13.5 volts then back to 14.1 V after rails pressureized and humming stops. Not really a big drop. Guess I should have said a "change in voltage".

I have no idea if that pump pulls enough amps to drag down the voltage under normal conditions. hopefully someone in the know will chime in
