Bad power pack
Well, I have determined that my CDI unit is bad, such as won't start unless I tap on CDI housing (gently of course) and then sometimes won't shutoff until I tap on housing once again.
I have already gone through the wire harness, put new kill switch in the 703 control, and cleaned and checked all connections including all points of ground.
I went to start this morning and had problems, finally got her running, and was able to gently tap on CDI housing and cause the engine to shut off while it was running...
My question to you is, has anyone had any experience with any of the after market CDI units such as this,
CDI 117-6E5-12 Yamaha Ignition Pack - 4 Cyl.
The motor is a 1995 C115TLRT and with the age of the boat, I'm not sure I want to put $600-$700 dollars in a Yamaha CDI...
