  • Explication on part #

    I own a T8 PLHB ser: 1001693, it's a 2003 and I broke the tiller arm.

When I look on the chart there is 2 part # for the same model
69c-42101-01-4d ur-ph and the other is:
    66r-42101-01-4d ur-eh

What is the difference between the 2 and witch one I should buy?

    Thank you

What do you see for the two steering handles that is common to your specific model? The data is trying to show you someting if you will look.

On the schematic they look identical, the only differences are with those letters:
      UR-PH and UR-EH

        the UR is USER required.
the EH is electric start tiller handle.
the PH is electric start with power trim.

and that is the difference in the handles.

ANYTIME you see a UR it means user required.
means its time to pay close attention.

do you understand what the P in your model # stands for and what the E stands for in a different model.
I believe this is the clue you are looking for

Dang Rodbolt ruined the question session

Yea, usually rodbolt tries to get folks to think for themselves. I was trying to do the same. He spoiled the party.

He tossed the man a fish. I wanted to provide a fishing lesson.

between the UR and the PH and EH.
that fishing lesson wasn't gonna go anyplace.

the UR confuses even trained techs.

there is not much training on how the Yamaha part numbers are structured.

most I had to teach myself.

but anytime you hit the UR its time to pay attention.

So on my tiller with electric start and power tilt & trim the one I need is: the PH is electric start with power trim.

                Thanks a lot!

For the P I know it stand for PT and the E is for Electric start

from what I see in the charts
E stands for electric start manual tilt
P stands for electric start power tilt
T stands for electric start with power tilt and trim
