  • Slow drop on 1992 Pro 60

I have a question and I would like to get some input on my problem. I have a 1992 Yamaha Pro 60 tiller. Every once in a while, I will tilt the motor up and ever so very slowly it will lower down. Any ideas on what the problem and possible solution(s) might be. Thanks in advance.

    how high is up?
    how deep is a hole?

can you dig half a hole?

    how slow is slow?

      Rodbolt,

If you are watching it after you tilt the motor in the most upright position, you can watch it very slowly sink lower about 12 to 18" in the course of a 5 minute span. I hope this info helps.

sounds like a valve leaking by internally, but if it does not do it all the time maybe it is trash getting into a valve

                you definatly have an issue.
reason I asked is I recently had one in the shop with a "leak down" issue.
seems it would drop about 2" over about 1 month.
                kinda normal sometimes.

things to look for on yours
                up main valve
                up relief valve
                manual release valve
                trim piston orings
                free piston orings
