I want to pull and test these rubber sensors out of engine heads. Manual does not say how to remove, just how to test. Don't want to break them, just pull??? or what.

Sensor Switches came out easily as you said. Shorted engine wires to make alarm work, so ok.
Cleaned off the switches and tested closure in hot water, Ok.
Going back with switches and noticed grease like substance in the engine holes. Started to clean and then got to thinking, was this grease for a purpose. Was grease used to make good temperature contact from switch to engine block holes. If so, then should I be adding back new grease(or some substance) to the switch when I reinstall it?1991 Kingfisher 179. Yamaha ProV 150, P150TLRP,Ser#352453, code 6J9L, eng#038614. prop-SS. 25-M.
