  • Yamaha oil lines

I'm trying to find good placement for two remote oil tanks and was wondering what would be too far for their placement. Is transmission oil line OK to use? Thanks

Any hose rated for fuel/oil should be acceptable.

The longer the hose the greater the restriction to flow. So, depending upon the length needed for your extension you might want to go to something with a larger internal diameter.

The race car boys are using a lot of hoses with teflon linings today. The lining is slick and does not restrict the flow of oil as some hoses might do. It is rated for fuel or oil.

If Yam has ever indicated a maximum distance from the tank to the motor I have not seen it. Some fairly long boats are running with the tanks installed under the center console, some distance from the motor.

Keep in mind the need to get the hose through a rigging grommet.
