I have bought a 9.9 from a dealer that had to order the motor it came with trim and tilt that's works great up and down supper fast only problem I see now is a kicker motor needs to be able to bounce up when you run over something and drop back down after you pass the object with this feature it stays locked down is there anything that will change this problem???

The hydraulics are engineered to unlock internally, which will allow the motor to swing uo, in the event that you hit something, to reduce any damage that might ocurr.

But, as you note it will not act the same as a motor without power trim and tilt. If you are in real shallow water it is now your job to activate the trim/tilt mechanism to raise the motor a bit.

Life is full of trade offs. You now have added features but they do come with the trade off of you needing to be more vigilant in shallow water.

got ya that's good to know and it does go up and down really fast so just have to be a little more careful in the shallows
