115 4 stroke does not cut off with kill switch or key
115 4 stroke does not cut off with kill switch or key
This problem started on the trailer. Went out to crank the boat just to run it for a while and when I tried to shut it down it just kept running , pulled the kill switch and kept running . Can any one help me with this??
When
carefully test the main relay.
especially if at key off the RPM drops slightly yet wont stop.
at key off engine still running, tap the relay with a screwdriver handle.

Sorry for highjacking... just looking for some answers ..
And if that works ...
What is it telling me ??
Got the same problem with my 2004 Yamaha F90TLRC ...
while the symptoms may look similar.
ALL US market F115 motors have EFI.
means they have a main relay and an ECU that has a shut down sequence.
the F90TLRC was the LAST US market built F90 that used carbs.
it does have a crude TCI system but no main relay powering it and no ECU shutdown sequence.
BIG HUGE difference in the ign CONTROL side.
production sides are VERY similar but not the control side.

No luck with that. Motor is running rough now and still won't shut off with key or kill switch. I pulled the switch out of the console and removed the wires 1 at a time and it made no change. I was told maybe ECU bad or maybe key switch . I don't think it is the key switch since it runs with it unhooked .What ta do next?
Thanks
I would check to make sure that the white wire is being grounded when the key is in the off position or when the kill switch has been activated. And if so, that the white wire has continuity all the way to the pin at the ECU.
