2017 Yamaha F90 1.8 sohc

For those that don’t know or was wondering, the new F90 for 2017 has an oil capacity of 3.38 us qts. with filter change. Took me awhile to find this info out as my owners manual in my new boat is for a 2016 F90LA (dohc) which has been discontinued. This new designation for the F90 is LB(sohc). Older 90 hp Yamaha’s had cap of 3.9 us qts. Sorta pissed bc I could have overfilled on the 20 hr oil change.

why not simply look on the flywheel cover. the info is on the tag.

I don’t fill to capacity. The last quart or half quart gets added gradually while checking the dip stick

What is the document number on the front of the manual that you have? Will begin with LIT-18626-

Strange that you would have received a manual for a different motor. Is this a screw up on the dealers part or did Yam put the wrong book in the box with the motor?
