Oil filter bracket

can someone tell me what the allen headed screw is for in the side of oil filter bracket. Appears to be leaking a little...thinking about pulling it and putting some 518 on it.

I imagine its a simple plug, an artifact of the machining process for the casting.

safe bet when you remove it with a filter in place, you will have the filter contents running out

suggest you wait for an oil change for your "removal/sealing" job

That would be an odd leak. Unless someone decided to unscrew it out of curiousity. Are you sure the oil is not remnants of a previous oil change?

Wouldnt doubt it the way the port motor leaks oil!
