Whiney trim n tilt.

Port engine TNT sounds like hell but operates normally. It operates at a lower pitch and has a few warbles and groans, not that sweet high pitch that it used to. I pulled the plug and found clean fluid, and it doesn't appear to need any. No signs of leakage.

What is it trying to tell me?

Could be the trim motor is getting week. Make sure you are getting 12 volts at the motor wires at the trim relay.

A small blob of grease on the trim ram tips could help....
