older yamaha 40BE tacho settings

have an yamaha 40 BE 1978..2cyl. 2stroke..
want to connect yamaha analoge tach..
setting on tach are 4/6/12 P
wat do I use?

We dont have any information on that model but the 2 cylinder 40 hp model here have 4 pole alternators.
