  • Command Link Question

I have a 2012 F225XA with non command link gauges. I would like to install command link gauge for fuel management and possibly connect to my MFD. How do I tell what I need to make sure everything will connect properly. I have this connector seen below which I think is the command link connector.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

That is the Command Link connector.

Here is a link to a diagram that depicts the core Yamaha stuff that will need to be added to your boat. All you need is the stuff that begins with a 6Y8 prefix. Note that lengths of the pigtail and main bus harnesses vary. Buy the length that is needed. Gauges shown are round tachometer and combination speed/fuel but if you want the standalone Fuel Management square gauge then you would buy the part number for that square gauge.

Here is a simple diagram as to how to go about adding just a Fuel Management meter and getting engine data to a chart plotter.

Your first post indicates that you have a mechanically con*****ed motor. Therefore, the control box is out of the equation. The key switch only provides electrical power to a Command Link hub.

There will be extra terminals in the fused harness that runs between the key switch and the conventional gauges, into which you can connect the power supply wires for the CL hub.

All engine data comes directly from the engine as shown in the diagram above.
