oil injection lines

It's probably time to replace the oil injection lines on my 30 elf and I would like to know if these lines are just common vinyl tubing or is there something magic about them that I don't know about. The lines on my engine are getting a little stiff and weeping slightly, so it appears they are due. Can I just run up to the hardware store and but a few feet of vinyl tubing and save the time necessary to order oem lines or am I asking for trouble?

I am not sure if local hardware store plastic tubing is oil resistant, but probably is not
