15 HP Two stroke running with pulser coil disconnected???? Rodnut ring in here

A guy is reporting that his 15 HP will run (at a fast idle) with the pulser coil disconnected. I would not have thought so but...

The fact that he says it runs at a fast idle might be telling us something. I don't know what it is.

without the pulser to tell it when to fire, would it just not fire the spark?
or could it default to fire at some point?

I would have thought that the engine would not run. A guy is telling me that it does. But who knows. He might not even be disconnecting the pulser coil.
