  • Oil leaking thru carbs.

Have a 1984 50hp 2 stroke yam. motor. Have started having some oil leaking thru the carbs when the boat is on trailer between trips to lake. any ideas or solutions to this problem.

It's no problem...2 stroke premix motors do that...the gas in the carb throat evaporates and leaves behind the oil....your intake/breather box probably also has oil in it....

if its oil injected then most likely a oil line check valve is failing.

Why does it seem to be so difficult to type a few extra letters when saying what kind of motor a poster has?

Is it that much more difficult to type 50ETLN instead of 50HP?

Actually, by not typing "1984 50HP" and instead typing "50ETLN", two letters and a space would have not been used. Plus, everyone would know precisely what model is under question.

I just can't understand it. Help me to understand.
