Trim Gauge

I have a F70 and want to connect my Teleflex 65502P gauge to the motor. I have the four wire trim harness installed. I connected the orange wire to the sender input but no dice. Can someone help? Thanks in advance.

The Yam F70 four wire trim/oil harness does not use an orange wire. The wire colours are pink, gray, green and green with a red tracer.

The pink wire carries the signal from the sender.

The gauge you mention is shown as being applicable to an Evinrude/Johnson/Suzuki motor. It is not the correct gauge for a Yamaha motor. Sender TEL65504P appears to be the sender that you need.

Senders and gauges have to be compatible to work correctly.

sorry after I rechecked I have the 65504P installed. Any other help. Shifted to the pink wire. When you turn the key on, the gauge goes from full up to fully down then back to full up in a few seconds.
