Taken from another outboard motor forum. I couldn't resist. According to the OP, after removing the shift rod connector and bolt, and removing the 4 LU bolts, the LU of his '99 8hp 6NO will not break free. The engine has been hanging upside down for 3 days. I don't know about y'all but I'm at a loss for words. I just feel sorry for the poor guy.

I have had to do that. Not so bad with a small motor like that..but when you get, say a 40hp, then it starts getting interesting..lol
Funny looks on people's faces when they walk into your garage and you got an outboard hanging upside down from the ceiling..
