im new to this sight, so I don't know what im doing. but I need some help. whats the difference between the F150XA/LA and the LF 150 TXR Yamaha motor

Go to the Yam parts book and open the catalog for each model. You can then compared one model to the other to see all of the common parts and to see all of the differences.
The F is the motor with a right turn gear case. The LF is the motor with a left turn gear case.
A model with an X in the suffix means it has an extra long drive shaft. A model with an L in the suffix has a long drive shaft.
TXR/TLR suffix was the original way of identifying a model. Yam change that to XA/LA to confuse everyone. They did a damn good job.
