I just bought a 1999 c40tlrx and I can not here or see the motor
Choke a man told me these motors advance the timing on there
Own to choke it is this true ?

That is somewhat correct.
It is a prime start enrichment system.
all you have to do is turn the key to start cold or hot, no need to advance throttle.
while cold it advances timing until the temperature switch tell the CDI the motor is warmed up and adds extra fuel until the heater unit warms up and closes off the extra fuel

Your model does not use a choke. It has an automatic fuel enrichment device to facilitate a cold start.

It makes nary a sound or movement that you can see.
