05' 300 HPDI Temp gauge

I have a 05'300 the boat has a full individual gauge package on dash. one of the gauges is water pressure (works fine) other is eng. temp. doesn't work. what wires should it be connected to? also..
- I know I don't have added sensor @ top one port is already taken for H2o pressure.
- do I need to add a sensor or is there one I can tap into?

A sensor needs to be added.

There is a port on the top of the starboard cylinder head into which a temperature sender can be screwed. Wiring from the sender then runs to a gauge that will give you a general indication of the operating temperature of the motor. Here is the gauge
