How tune A/F on my outboard?
The way to tune the A/F ratio is to change jet sizes or to adjust the idle mixture screw. This can get expensive in parts and labour, and might not offer much improvement. A carbureted F80 is not noted for being a gas hog. If you are just trying to save on gasoline then reduce the throttle setting. Most motors get their maximum mileage at or about 4000 RPM.
How does the motor run? Does it start and idle well? Does it accelerate well? Does it appear to make full power? Your motor might be just fine as it is.
I would discuss the idle mixture screw setting, however, with your mechanic. The setting for a non-Brazilian 67G F80 is 2.5 turns out from being lightly seated, plus or minus half a turn.
