  • Overheat alarm f60a

Intemittent alarm sounds off at various speeds. Just put new impeller in and just removed my tsat. Had to force it out .....gunky and bent it out of shape in process. Removed some salt build up etc. tested Tstat...it opens. Am going to insert a new tstat. Any other suggestions as to what I should do or the cause

are you sure it is a over temp alarm?
do your gauges indicate that it is?

If the stat was grown in that bad the passages are probably plugging up

But then if you only replaced the impeller and not the cup and wear plate then that maybe your problem.

Housing needs to be replaced also if it shows any signs of problems

      F60 alarm

Dash is showing flashing temp icon. I did not replace the cup and plate, but they look OK. Have now changed the Tstat and problem is still there. Checked new impeller it seemed very dry, so packed a little grease over the base of the cup. Still sounding off after a few minutes of running. I was thinking there maybe some partially blocked passages and was thinking of using a desalter like saltaway to help clean out the system. Would you replace the cups and plate first? how do cup and plate effect water flow?

If one of the internal anodes have broke, they can block water passage.Need to take of the exhaust cover on the left side of the block and inspect in the lower area.

            What does this mean?

Did you put it in a drum of water and it still did not pump water?

Water pump kits come with all new parts and seal/gaskets it is always better to replace them all to make sure it seals well.
Not much more cost than just impeller
